Tuesday Tidbits: The last week of May

I love the last week in May, always have.
The end of the school year is so exciting.
The weather is beautiful. The earth is showing it's blooming colors and beauty!
Anticipation of summer fun is electric.
Baseball is winding down- with my son's team playing in a tournament this week- and the league championship is at stake.
We have had a great year with a great group of parents and kids.

Apart from the coach (my husband) having a little argument with the umpires, it has been a wonderful season. Our boys have improved so much that it is remarkable.

The lost their first game 16-1, and returned to be tied for the league champs with only 3 losses!

I have always enjoyed watching my little man play, but this year has been so exciting.

My two neighbors' sons are on the team as well, which has made it a fun, exciting and entertaining thing to go to the ballgames. Although the games last almost 2 hours, and that may just consist of 2 or 3 innings, it is still excitement.

I have been so proud of my son and all his teammates and friends this year!
And win or lose tonight, they are champions.

Good Mama, Bad Mama???

Idol Finals or Baseball Finals???????

No really....
I will record Idol and my son and I will watch it together after the ball game.

We are about to make brownies for the end of the year party tomorrow.
I can't believe the school year is over!
It has been a trying year in many ways, but all in all, we have all survived and are the better for it.
I am very thankful for my new hometown, in which I have almost marked a year already.
This time last year, things were very different.
I spent the LAST

last week of May packing up my Florida home to come back to Alabama.

And as I miss the beach and many things about the past there,

I am thankful this last week of May.

I am happy with the new life we have here and thankful to be close to my friends and family.
I plan on spending the rest of my working years here....

and then retiring back to the beach!

Don't the honeysuckles smell wonderful?

Happy Last Week of May!

Have a Terriffic Tuesday!

I thought it was my imagination, but I actually DO smell the honeysuckles! My youngest's last game was last night, against "Speedy's" (from Rick & Bubba) team and they are great, so we got beat! My granddaughter was chosen for All Stars so she is so happy. Middle grandson is, well, middle child and I take particular care that his feelings are not hurt ... he was put up for All Stars, but I don't think he'll make it. They all had good seasons. Hannah's team won the championship, but got slaughtered at the tournament at Liberty Park ... that's when you see how good you REALLY are! haha! It was a good experience, tho.

Back to work tomorrow 1/2 for the rest of the week and full time starting next week. I dread it ... been so nice staying home. Oh well, it is what God chose for me and so I go with a smile on my face and a song in my heart!

Maybe we shall meet one day ... I hope sooner rather than later ...

God bless and love,
Abbey
I am so glad you are here, Charnita!!

Hey Charnita! I am so glad that school is about to be out. I love the extra time with my kiddos. I'm sure you know by now how your son did. I hope it is great news!!

We play our last ball game Friday. Girl, I am READY for the end of that ballgame! You've had three losses and we've had three wins. Fun, but I'm ready for a break!

Be blessed.

My fave time of year too. The best thing about Kid-Team-Sports IS how much they can improve over the course of the year with good coaching.
