Five Good Things This Friday 1. I won the Gnome Photo Contest and get to guest host NO SLEEP HEWY'S ever popular blog . My son actually waded out and placed the gnome on one of the large rocks, and accidentally turned him backwards. I loved it ! Thanks again, Hewy for all the fun you give us! 2. I finished our Colorado DVD- well the rough draft. I pulled together all the 220 pictures and 30 minutes or so of video, put music and titles with Roxio Media Creator 10. A good product that does it all.... PhotoSlideShows , video editing, DVD custom chaptering and burning, imports audio formats of all kinds, 246 transitions to choose from. A great choice for your video editing needs and for the obsessive person who likes LOTS of choices. All Van Halen and Bon Jovi music....too. Could you have guessed? Turned out really cool, but a bit too long, even for me to sit through all at once...but a great way to preserve memories. I do not do scrapbooking ....so this is my alternative. 3. M...

If I was a Bon Jovi fan before, even slightly obsessed with them, well just let me say that this concert made me even more in love with the voice and face ( and all...) of Jon, the talent and rebellion of Richie and the amazing way the entire band puts on a show that makes you feel the love for their fans and stand sing and dance on your feet for 3 rocking hours. This was the last concert of their North American tour and Jon "didn't hold anything back." (Well, they are returning from the European leg to play 2 already sold out shows in July at Madison Square Garden to the tune of $304 face value.... which I would gladly pay if they were not already sold out....) We arrived at the Marriot Suites, dressed, took a taxi to a trendy little place called Thrive for a snack and drinks and then headed over to Phillps Arena. The crowd and traffic were crazy and excitement was everywhere. Everywhere there were groups of ladies and their best girlfriends that looked just like th...

Okay.... all obstacles clear. Mothers are still there to take care of you, even when you are 40. She knew how important this trip was to me and my girls.....and she saved the day- and my brother/sister-in-law and Emm Nanny too!!!! Great to be close to family..... Except for the fact I have to put on a business suit and interview in the morning- and my dear friend is still too sick to go...... All is well and I am off in the morning as soon as I dazzle 3 interviewers with my knowledge. Camera and new really cheap shoes ready and my next post...... Well.... Just guess.... what it will be about????

To quote a favorite poet of mine, Robert Burns.... The best laid plans go often awry! I am a planner. I have had this Bon Jovi trip planned down to the hour for months now. And suddenly..... Life has conspired against me. From 2 job interviews- which I really do not want to go to on this particular date- but must .....IN THE MORNING, TO my best friend's emergency sinus surgery and complications leaving her ticket going unused as of yet- and us both broken hearted that she can't go..... and my child was supposed to stay with her child- thus leaving me without a sitter as,well, I mean how tacky would it be to send my child there to stay with her.....and her crying because she is so sick and not there with us...... TO YET a death in the family with services TOMORROW NIGHT and FRIDAY..... At the risk of sounding selfish, this is Bon Jovi , people!!!!! I am not a good decision maker, and am trying to sort out all these last minute details..... and as my husband says, this is why...

Oh another note, I got some clothes for the Bon Jovi Event at Macy's One Day Sale- that actually lasts 3 days- this weekend. 8 Days to Bon Jovi........ This is a perspective shirt for the Bon Jovi Concert. It is my favorite brand, INC International Concepts from Macy's. I adore their clothes, especially shirts. I have this other one that I am considering..... I had those wooden Dr. Scholls in my youth and I could not resist this sparkly pink pair. These are not for the concert, but the ballfield. They have plastic bottoms and a massagy feeling to the bottom of your foot. And a new pair of Flip Flops....can't have too many. Also, we are overhauling our landscaping. Let me say we are usually not do-it-yourselfers- especially not in the gardening area, so this is new for us. I did compliment my husband. He is as OCD as I am, whether he will admit it or not- just about different things. It bodes well for him in that he starts a project and finishes it....immediately. So, starte...

This week has gone by fast! I took a personality test that I found on Philosopher Mom's blog. It was rather interesting. Your Visual DNA . Although Philosopher argues that it is invalid, it hit me just to a tee. Her interpretation of it is very funny as is her entire blog..... although she can be very deep sometimes and makes me overwork my brain.....(but I do love her!!) 1. Learn Something new today . This is not hard. Pick a subject. Type it in on Dogpile.com , my favorite search engine. Read. There you go. Then, there are great instructional videos in YouTube on so many subjects. I have learned some really advanced cool Photoshop tips from PhotoshopMama who graciously shares her knowledge freely in very nice screen shot videos with step by step guidance. 2. Plan a vacation. Long, short, day trip or 2 week trip.... It doesn't have to be for right now. It just gives you something to look forward to. 3. Take an art class . I am about to take my first tomorrow . (Thanks, Leigh!!!) Should be interesting since my artistic talent stops when I take my hands off a camera or computer. I don't think you are ever too old to try something new, so I guess this is an extension on #1- learn something new. Although I have been singing since my recent American Idol obsession and my family tells me I should not try to learn that particular skill for some rea...

After a several month long quest, I got GREAT seats to the Atlanta Bon Jovi Concert!!!!! Talk about making my Friday!!!!!! Making my year!!!! May 1st !!!! I plan on making a day of if, wearing leather and doing the whole groupie thing! Taking the camera in hopes of amazing shots..... I love Fridays ! The excitement of having made it through one more week. The remnants of high school excitement when you get ready for your big night of fun with your friends or your sweetheart. Spelling tests, Pep-rallies and ballgames, sleep-overs.... skating rinks, hanging out at the parking lot, parties.....rolling yards....mischief...... When you are grown up, Fridays are more of a winding down than a cranking up! Relaxing..... No homework, no bedtimes, no baths even... watching movies, eating pizza.... Eating out, staying up late, anticipating to sleep in. So today, remember the reckless fun you used to have and be thankful for the peaceful excitement you have now.
