Thought for Thursday

Image
My DVR cut off so I missed this ending and found it online this morning...... All I have to say is that I am really glad David Cook won American Idol. Althought I also have to say, as I watched the last performances, I was, for the first time, impressed and enjoying david's performances and was a little scared that he had not out-shined Cook in the end. When he performed with One Republic last night, he did show some non-theme park star quality in small glimmers. He is a nice kid and do wish him well- but really wanted my rocker David to win!!! Last night's Finale was exciting and I also, like my friend Leigh, was teary-eyed in the end. It started when George Michael performed Praying for Time- such a timly song- and ended when David Cook was so gracious and thrilled. My baby girl kept saying all night long that she was for David Cook. When he won, SHE cried as well, because apparently, she thought the other david was David Cook and was an Archie fan the whole time and I didn...

david and David

Well, it will be a David showdown on American Idol. I can't say that I am suprised- or that I disagree. While I do not like the Disney-theme park david, I do have to admit he is very talented vocally and corners the pre-teen and teen market. I always root for a contestant to be booted off then feel sorry for them when they are- but Syesha was the least talented, least original figure left on the stage. I enjoyed seeing their hometown visits and it was very touching to see the fan support of these ordinary people made stars. So all of us 30+ women out here- and men who do not like theme park music- must call and vote for David Cook. Did you hear them say that 56 MILLION votes were cast??? David Cook is the more contemporary, versatile singer. He has grown and blossomed over the show's span. He has the most star potential. He, in my opinion, must be the next American Idol ! On a side note, what was that Fantasia all about??? I did not watch the show before this season and do n...

38 million people Can't Be Wrong.....

Oh, yes they can.

Tuesday Tidbits 2: Shopping, Show Tunes, Shrubs and John Bon Jovi!

Image
Oh another note, I got some clothes for the Bon Jovi Event at Macy's One Day Sale- that actually lasts 3 days- this weekend. 8 Days to Bon Jovi........ This is a perspective shirt for the Bon Jovi Concert. It is my favorite brand, INC International Concepts from Macy's. I adore their clothes, especially shirts. I have this other one that I am considering..... I had those wooden Dr. Scholls in my youth and I could not resist this sparkly pink pair. These are not for the concert, but the ballfield. They have plastic bottoms and a massagy feeling to the bottom of your foot. And a new pair of Flip Flops....can't have too many. Also, we are overhauling our landscaping. Let me say we are usually not do-it-yourselfers- especially not in the gardening area, so this is new for us. I did compliment my husband. He is as OCD as I am, whether he will admit it or not- just about different things. It bodes well for him in that he starts a project and finishes it....immediately. So, starte...

American Idol- Finally

Image
Oh, YES, I can't believe I did not mention my sheer delight that Kristy Lee is GONE from the show. Much more enjoyable. And I did not even feel sorry for her about her horse. I am really a nice person....really. I just disliked her from day 1. Hang in there David Cook. Goodbye, next time, Whitney wannabee. I am tired of her hair. Not that I have room to be critical or anything. (See hair post below.)

American Idol- Mariah Week

Image
I have to admit, I like Mariah more than I thought and did not remember all the songs that were hers. David Archuletta can sing. Anything. Carly tried a little too hard to make it low and different- I love the song- really didn't know it was Mariah....! I am old. Syesha did a good job, but to me, she always sounds the same- pretty boring. I never heard the song. I guess she was ok, like every week to me. Brooke - Awkward. Christy Leigh- don't like her, didn't like the country whang to the song- I agree with Simon-whiny. DAVID - Brilliant!!! Loved him again. So original. Jason- Adorable, original and maturing. Please take Christy, Syesha or Brooke......in that order. David, David, Jason and Carly- in that order- were the best. The GUYS ROCKED!!!!!

American Idol- I Love this Song-

Long before I was an Idol fan, this song has been one of my favorites. I am so pleased they included this not once, but twice, on my favorite show. Carly and David make it GREAT. Can't wait until tonight although I do not like Mariah..... Should be interesting.

American Idol- WHAT?

Image
I have never been so shocked to see a results show as tonight. Michael Johns!!! No way. I kept thinking it was a mistake. The whole thing was weird. Leave no talent Kristy Leigh and run of the mill Whitney Wannabe Syesha on there, sure and take out the performer who has performed well week after week, is original, is nice..... Even Carly should have gone before Michael with her several times missing the mark. Let's protest!!! Let's email. He was not my favorite, but he was not the bottom in my opinion . I guess 31 million votes must have told a different story.... On another note, Shout to the Lord is one of my all time favorite Contemporary Christian songs, dating back to my old hometown church days. I loved the Idol's rendition of it and will be downloading it from iT unes !

American Idol- and Drugs- Part 2

Image
I posted previously about taking medication and dreaming weird dreams about Idol. Well, last week, while hospitalized, I had another American Idol experience with drugs involved. I was in severe pain and on heavy IV pain medications. I had been resting comfortably in a room since Monday night, and on Tuesday, my sister came to sit with me. My sister is the absolute best hospital sitter you can ask for- but I am sure the hospital staff hates her tremendously. While they were taking good care of me, it is never good enough for Sis. Especially when I was resting, minding my own business, in a room with 2 beds- all alone. When suddenly, a commotion erupted. Another patient was brought in. .....Let me digress here to say that after arriving in the ER, lying on a table for some 5 hours, and finally being transferred to a Express Admit room- I was greeted by a 90 year old lady IN A BONNET that I was sharing my suite with --who kept asking me for a mirror in my purse so that she could see who...

American Idol- and Drugs

This was the best night of AI so far for me. I have to say that David Cook has been my very favorite every week and last night he was incredible. Billie Jean as a rock song. Who'd a thought???? (My pick so far.) Michael Johns was amazing as well. Lucky for him that song was in his birth year. Who doesn't love We are the Champions !! ( He is my son's pick so far.) I am not much a fan of the ladies, but I guess Carly was my favorite. I love the Total Eclipse song and thought she did OK with it. Brook's got my 2nd place vote with her soulful piano playing performance of Every Breath You Take . ( Love the song as well.) Although Kristy Lee did a little better this week, If they do not get her off there soon, I may just die!!! I can't stand her. I agree with Simon, she is a Stepford wife robot, albeit a patriotic one after singing God Bless the USA . Must Go: Kristy Lee Cook- STOP THE TORTURE. I have wanted her to go for 3 weeks. Ramiele Malubay- I am just tired of her...

Thursday Night...Idol and Introspection

This week has gone by fast! I took a personality test that I found on Philosopher Mom's blog. It was rather interesting. Your Visual DNA . Although Philosopher argues that it is invalid, it hit me just to a tee. Her interpretation of it is very funny as is her entire blog..... although she can be very deep sometimes and makes me overwork my brain.....(but I do love her!!) I was an Easy Rider in Mood, Escape Artist in Fun, High Times Roller in Habits and Home Soul in Love....fairly accurate. Check it out...it shows you a series of pictures and you choose the one which is you! You can even make a cool Widget with your answers. (Shown at bottom of all posts....) Then my old dear friend sent me an email about horoscopes-- LIBRA - --Nice to everyone they meet. Their Love is one of a kind. Silly, fun and sweet. Have own unique appeal. Most caring person you will ever meet! However, not the kind of person you want to mess with... you might end up crying... Libras can cause as much havoc ...

American Idol, Rainy Days and Stuff

Image
Well, it has been a yucky cold, rainy day- a perfect "Pajama Day" for my daughter and me. My mother came up to stay a few days and had to drive back to Gulf Shores in the rain. I sure am gonna miss her, and so are the kids. No matter how old you are, it is always nice to have your mother come and take care of you. She has all my laundry done, played Power Ranger with Sally, took Fred to Tae Kwon Do and kept me company in my drugged state. I had a small medical procedure on Tuesday and she came to help me recover. She asked was ok and ready for her to leave. I should have said NO! This is the first time ever we have watched American Idol. My son and I have enjoyed it. I was more impressed with the women overall than the men. I think that there are a few standouts. We liked Michael Johns best of the male performances. And I did not want to like Brooke White because she seems so DINGY, but her performance was good. Lots of the female performances stood out, so I do not have a fa...
