Our first stop to eat for Spring Break 09 was this little joint just outside of Gulfport , MS. The Shed When we pulled up, my son said....MOM, WE CAN'T EAT HERE! LOOK AT IT! But my husband had already checked the place out and said it was GREAT BBQ. I still was not feeling 100% or I would have snapped a bunch of pictures of the food and tasteful decor. But it was amazing BBQ. My 9 year old ate a whole rack of baby backs that fell off the bone. We sat outside on the spring day by the redneck wedding chapel and honeymoon suite. And, of course, my thoughtful husband bought me a tank top.

My DVR cut off so I missed this ending and found it online this morning...... All I have to say is that I am really glad David Cook won American Idol. Althought I also have to say, as I watched the last performances, I was, for the first time, impressed and enjoying david's performances and was a little scared that he had not out-shined Cook in the end. When he performed with One Republic last night, he did show some non-theme park star quality in small glimmers. He is a nice kid and do wish him well- but really wanted my rocker David to win!!! Last night's Finale was exciting and I also, like my friend Leigh, was teary-eyed in the end. It started when George Michael performed Praying for Time- such a timly song- and ended when David Cook was so gracious and thrilled. My baby girl kept saying all night long that she was for David Cook. The beach portion of our adventure was supposed to begin today- at my Mom's in Gulf Shores. She called yesterday to say that the riptides were worse than ever- all beaches were under red flag and some under "double red flag". They had 7 near drownings and 1 fatality. She said the life guards and coast guards had been on TV to warn people to stay out of the water. And my son is quite the adventuresome spirit. GranGran did not want me bringing my little dare devil anywhere near the water and asked us to come another time- as much as she wanted to see the kids. She said the roads were so congested since no one could be at the beach that it would not be a good vacation for us. So we are home. At least I am. My son has spent the night with a friend last night and has been home, changed clothes and is gone to another friends for the day and night tonight. When he is 16, I will never see him. We had a busy and nice weekend at our house. My son, Mr. Social, had a friend to spend the night Friday night, had Tae Kwon Do and baseball on Saturday, went to another friend's house Saturday night and had a friend over Sunday afternoon. I will never see him when he is a teenager. I asked him why he was so popular. He said because he was cool! It was FREEZING Saturday and a rather nice SPRINGY day yesterday. Baby girl posed in her new spring, Easter bonnet at the park yesterday. Sally had a friend over and went to another one's house too. She loves Sunday School but thinks her brother should not be allowed to go because he gets to go to school. He gladly said he would trade with her and SHE could go to school. I told Sally that we would go to the public library today and get new books. She was all excited until I got to the part where we had to keep the books for awhile in a special library book bag so as not to get them mixed up with our own books because we had to return the...
